Man-tastic

One more thing about NZ, and we’re on to writing about Chile (check back in a couple days!)…

We did a lot of driving in New Zealand, which you may have gathered. In 9 days, we covered about 1600km (1000mi). During this time, we heard Hattaway’s What is Love on the radio about 7 times. Head-boppingly good fun, although it does call into question the Kiwis' taste in music.

We also took note of the fact that they have some very clever people working on their drunk driving and general road safety campaigns. For instance:


There were other scare tactic signs like an image of rows of white crosses, superimposed with the message: Welcome to Snyderville. No hospitals, one cemetery.

However, amidst all these, we found this one the most persuasive:


Yes, we did turn around to get this picture. And it was worth it.

Ha! New Zealand was fun and funny. But I never saw a sign like this. Not really even sure what to make of it!
